Although AVG 7.5 is light on resources and is a no frills software, I've upgraded mine to AVG 8.5 and it rocks real hard.
AVG 7.5 offers great effectiveness in detection and removal that continues in version 8.5 but lacks the many, many new features present in the new version that makes the new one a install and forget product. The AVG 8.5 UI is also heads and bounds better than 7.5
However, I'm still using this version on my netbook coz its one of the lightest products on system resources.
