Panda Security for Business with Exchange is a small business internet security suite that covers the different components of your unique network. It includes a centralized console called Panda AdminSecure, as well as modules to protect desktops, file servers, Linux servers and MS Exchange Servers.
The suite is designed for companies with five to 25 employees, and it may be purchased with a one, two or three-year service license. However, Panda Security, a company in Spain, offers limited support to its U.S.-based business customers.
Four of the five certification bodies that we included in our evaluation have certified Panda's anti-virus software. It is Checkmark Certified by West Coast Labs and ISCA certified in both detection and cleaning. Both AV-Test.org and AV-Comparatives.org give it average cumulative scores. However, Virus Bulletin has not tested the product.
Panda Security for Business with Exchange is very competent in its anti-virus protection. Its virus-signature files are updated automatically every hour, and the software is even equipped to locate rootkits.
Panda Security also incorporates proactive heuristic detection to locate advanced threats before they become a problem. With TruPrevent Technologies (a host intrusion prevention system), Panda actively stops unknown threats. The software is configured to scan all inbound internet traffic, and it even protects your business from malware carried in instant messages.
The suite is certainly capable of blocking spyware. Panda uses advanced content filtering, and its anti-spam technology uses Recurrent Pattern Detection to more effectively eliminate spam (in any language).
Panda’s integrated firewall keeps potential infiltrators at bay while still enabling safe communication, which is essential for businesses. The firewall is extremely easy to configure, but the default settings should be more than adequate.
The suite protects your business with a multi-faceted approach. With network-access control, the software defends your network from dangerous files. Panda includes a centrally managed quarantine area where you can store suspicious and potentially dangerous files while you decide what to do with them.
The software's application control lets you restrict or enable various applications to control endpoint resources as needed. With its content-filtering tool, you can protect your employees from objectionable phrases, as well.
The suite's components are easy to install and deploy to all the workstations in your company, but configuring them can be somewhat difficult. Panda Security for Business features robust, in-application monitoring and reporting that allows you to really delve in and see the status of your business security if you want to. However, the system is flexible to accommodate your individual business structure, and it will easily work with third-party software such as Tivoli or HP OpenView.
Panda comes complete with a detailed user guide, and you can contact them via email. However, it does not provide phone support. In addition, we were unable to find any help files or support specifically for the suite on the company's website.
Summary:
Overall, Panda Security for Business with Exchange is a competent internet security solution. It includes comprehensive protection and advanced features. Despite the suite's excellent features, its limited customer support might be a problem for your business.
