Internet Protection:
Symantec Protection Suite is ready to protect your business from malicious software and hackers trying to compromise your business resources and tap into your private files and/or trade secrets. With Symantec you won’t have to worry about viruses, spyware, rootkits, adware, keyloggers, Trojans, and number of other malicious software.
Furthermore, the Protection Suite includes advanced messaging protection. With Brightmail based antispam, your employees’ inboxes won’t be cluttered with time-wasting (and dangerous) messages. Symantec also incorporates content filtering to protect users from inappropriate emails. Symantec Protection Suite scans all inbound and outbound email, so you don’t have to worry about receiving or passing along malware.
Management Features:
Symantec Protection Suite Small Business Edition protection allows administrators to control access to specific processes, files and folders. Administrators can also restrict access to system registries and processes. This allows administrators to restrict certain activities deemed as suspicious or high risk. Ultimately this prevents malware from spreading and locks down endpoints to prevent data theft.
Another impressive feature is the integration of backup and recovery tools. The Backup Exec System Recovery Desktop tool allows users to perform backups that can easily be restored in the event of an emergency. You can let Symantec run backups automatically when the ThreatCon level reaches a certain level, and create backups to the entire system while you work without interrupting individual users. And not only can you easily restore files to a specific point in time, you can even restore them to a virtual environment or completely different computers.
Ease of Use:
Symantec Protection Suite Small Business Edition is certainly a more advanced system than your basic consumer security suite. As such there was a little steeper learning curve to using the interface. It was clear that the software wasn’t designed with the average computer user in mind. Trained network administrators shouldn’t have any trouble learning the various ins and outs of the software, with simplified management tools and advanced reporting tools.
